Inspired by: School girls

Tai no inspiroidun koulu-univormuista.

Autumn is coming and school is starting again soon so I got inspired by School girls! In other words this post is going to give you tips on wearing lolita to school unless of course you have an uniform. We in Finland don't have uniforms but they are going to show up in this post as a source of inspiration.

Edwardian Simplicity

Yksinkertainen koulutyyli on valmis.

In this first look I wanted to utilize the simplicity of the one piece dress. When jumperskirts and skirt always need a blouse, the one piece requires no such thing. Add only a petticoat, tights and shoes. Then your ready to leave for studying. Add a quirky bag and a cute bow and  your simple school look is finished.

In this point I would like to point out that one migth not want to pick ones poofiest petticoat to school. A ligther poof will be as pretty and comfortable when sitting in class for hours.

Jacket with tartan is always classy

Tähän asuun halusin laittaa jonkin verran offbrändiä joten valitsin valkoisen peruskauluspaidan (Omg terävä kaulus) ja kengät joita on helppolöytää tavallisistakin kaupoista.

Minusta kouluun kannattaa aina valita mukavat jalkineet. Jos se tarkoittaa kymmenen sentin korkoja go for it, mutta matalammat kengät voivat olla aivan yhtä naiselliset.

Tartan is school girlish and combining two different one's gives an outfit a nice contrast. I wanted to use some offbrand items in here so I choce a basic blouse and shoes that can be easily found in any local store. Jacket bring the outfit a grown up air that is very nice sometimes.

You migth have noticed that I chose flat shoes for this look. I think that one should always wear comfortable shoes at school. If that means ten centimetre heels go for it, but if not flat one's can be as feminine.

The final look is something I would have worn to school. I love layers because to date I have not attended a school where the tempature wouldn't have changed, sometimes radically, between class rooms. So cardigans were and are love. You surely notice the high heels which are here to make the ankle socks appear less childish. To finish the look off I added a crestlike broach to give a nice private school feel.

Some last tips

1. Hanki hyvänkokoinen koululaukku johon mahtuu kirjojen lisäksi myös pieni meikkipussi, välipalarasia, juomapullo ja tarvittaessa vaihtopaita.

2. Söpöt koulutarvikkeet tekevät mistä tahansa päivästä pirteämmän.

4. Kanna viuhkaa. Jotkut luokat ovat vaan liian lämpimiä.

5. Jos et halua käyttää täyttä loliasua koulussa mutta haluat kuitenkin jotain peintä lolia elämääsi, yhdistä lolipuseroitasi tavallisiin vaatteisiisi tai käytä lolita-asusteita.

1. Get a good sized school bag that can fit your books and a little make up pochette, a small snack box, a bottle for water and if needed a spare shirt.

2. Cute school items cheer up everyday

3. You don't have to wear a full face of make up and an epic poofy hairstyle for school. Style your face and hair simply; it saves time.

4. Carry a fan. Some class rooms just are hot.

5. If you don't want to or cant wear lolita to school, combine your blouses with items from your normal wardrobe or wear some lolita jewelery to bring a little lolita in to your school days.

Some Etsy picks.

Neckwarmer  I chose this one because currently I am having a terrible cold and having somethin like this would be certainly lovely. It is also very cute and appropriate to the coming autumn and winter days. And yes I am talking about those in the middle of summer.

Green knigth dress by I do declare. I have liked this dress since it first came out but have always found something else to buy. Well maybe someday I will pick this one up too.

An epic hat I happen to love epic hat and this one certainly is epic. The feathers give it a nice old wordly look which would make it a gorgeus addition to any Gothic lolita or aristocrat look.

Necklace with a skull because did you really think we would get away with a post without atleast one skull themed accessory. Anyways I love skulls. They are macabre, charming and beautiful in an otherworldly way and thusly this necklace is one of my picks for today.

Pumpkin teapot Isn't it fairytale like? I simply love the whimsicalness of this teapot. It would look perfect in any somewhat mad hatter-type or Harry Potter themed teaparty.

Bonne anniversaire Kata!

Kata celebrated her birthday yesterday and the weather treated her with nice sunshine. I was there and we all had very much fun.

We had some refreshments outside before the cooling weather forced us to go indoors. Kata has a lovely garden and it was nice to have tea outside, for a change.

Kata oli leiponut todella paljon. Kanikeksit olivat erityisen maukkaita ^^.

Kata had baked a lot. The rabbit shaped biquits were particularly tasty.

I visited Mari with Flowerthief and this is the first of my looks. (Ignore the derp face please). I made the dress and the headthingy, shirt is by Thales, shoes by Minna Parikka, Necklace from Kalevala koru and everything is random. We went to shop some tea and were supposed to visit Göta's world (an Antique shop) but unfortunately our map reading skills weren't quite good enough.

Ostamani teet.

The teas I bougth.

The Ouncen laput ovat niin ihanasti kirjoitettuja.

The tags at my favorite teashop are so lovely.

This is what I wore to a meet up organized by Madteaparty and Ludmilla in honor of Elena's visit to Finland. We naturally oo  her to The Ounce (The official Finnish lolihangout ?) And to Minna Parikka. It was lovely to see everyoine again and I hope we shall meet again soon.
