What's in my purse?
Monday, 1 December 2014
If I were a goddess
merciful and kind
My blood I offer thee
so thine essence will inspire me"
This is the only night of the year that I would expect the sacrament of giving of the Beautiful virgins all though it is appreciated on other nights as well. If any virgins aren't available I will accept any nice gothy boots, shiny sparkly black purses and black lace dresses given that the items meet my expectations of quality.

Kaikkein rakkaimmat lolitavaatteeni/asusteeni:
My first dream dress. And my first overseas purchase if I can trust my memory. I loved this print as soon as I saw it and don't think I'll ever be able to let it go. I still use it from time to time but it is no longer a favourite piece in my wardrobe.
Thsi was the first hat I made entirely by myself. Imade the patterns, I cut the fabrics, I hand stiched the entire thing with painstaking precicion. In a way it was a form of therapy after my dramatic leaving from school, some sewing that did not require a sewing machine. When finished I added my initials to the lining. Unfortunately there aren't very many opportunities to wear a bonnet but I'll try and find a chance everytime I got time.
This dress is so important becaus of the memories tied to it. I wore it at the first Princess Fair which was one of the best experiences of my life. I also wore it to the Tracon fashion show last year and it was epic. Apart from this the dress represents everything I love in lolita, it is luxurious, elegant, beautifull and it has a spirit of old timey romance to it.

Suosikkibrändini/ My favorite brands
I find Juliette & Justine attractive because its designs have a certain aristocratic air to them. Dresses, skirts and blouses emulate a gracefull, dignified elegance, which can also be seen on the designs of Victorian maiden. I find the way, Juliette & Justine utilizes classic art on their dresses and skirts, lovely. It is epic, yet simple and elegant. My first brand dress happened to be Juliette & Justine so this brand holds a special place in my heart.
Moi-même-Moitié was my favorite brand for a looong time. I used to love the gothic elegance and church prints of Moitié. And although other brands have now stolen the favorite spot, Moitié still has things that intrigue me. For example I just love the jewelery especially the jewel encrusted cross is gorgeus! I also love the aristocratic clothes although I wear only lolita.
As I mentioned before I find Victorian maiden lovely because of it's aristocratic and almost regal elegance. I also love the oldtimey romantic aspect of the brands look. Victorian maiden combines many of my favorite things about lolita: Old fashioned femininety, attention to detail with high quality standard, sense of style, classiness and some sort of dark romantic style (depending on the colour of course).
Innocent World is relatively new on my favorite list. I have always liked the long sleeved dresses they have but the other things haen't been that big of a thing for me. Now however I totally love them! Innocent World brings a new kind of cuteness to my wardrobe which it has been lacking for some time. I adore their shirts too!
Other than the above I naturally like my own creations, specific indie brands and vintage.

When I started writing this I did not know what to say. It's very hard to describe one's personal style. I would say that my look is a dark classic with very strong gothic nyances, but there are those who surely disagree. My colour palette has ostly dark colours like black, some reds, greys and blues. My accessories are motly on the macabre side (Raakku & Co.) and traditionally gothic (Crosses, Alchemy gothic stuff). I like epic gothic boots and veiled headdresses. However, the designs and cuts of my dresses are rather classic and my favorite brands at the moment are Juliette & Justine, Victorian maiden and Innocent world.
I do like historical influence in clothing and do try to add some to my personal style. Especially victorian era fascinates me although there is a place in my hearth for elizabethan collars. History is one of my grande passions so it is natural for it to show in my choices of clothing. I would very much like to look like a young lady of a victorian manor house in mourning of course.

Tyyli-ikoneita/Style icons
Blair Waldorf's style is classic in the loveliest way. It has a flair of high class girliness which I wish to incorporate on my lolistyle. Her clothes are almost always perfectly fitted and her outfits have interesting and well chosen details. Her headbands, classic shoes, jewlery and bags have inspired me for a long time. Although Blair's style is classic it has uplifting and surpirinsing spirit. She always knows what to wear regardless of the situation and that is definetly important to me.
Or any other heroine in a historical vampire movie or book. In these kinds of movies they use a very similiar type of style. The clothes are opulent, festive and sometimes very over the top. The lok is very gothic and very much romantic. I'm not saying that these characters inspire my everyday look (Though everyday luxury is a fine principal) but I feel that they are my style idols and I do enjoy to combine this look to my more festive outfits.
And especially my friends. Although I couldn't imagine to wear stuff like Caramea of Halktia I admire styles greatly. They both are unique, faboulous and talente and is that not what style is all about.

Lolitameme1: Best lolita fashion advice you've ever received.
En ainakaan nyt muista koskaan saaneeni suoraan minulle suunnattua neuvoa. Paras yleisesti suunnattu neuvo kuitenkin löytyi gothic charm schoolista ja sen voisi tiivistää sanoihin ajattele rajojen ulkopuolelta. Gothic charm schoolin Lady of manners neuvoo käyttämään erikoisia ja omalaatuisia materiaaleja asusteisiin.
I can’t remember if anyone has ever offered me any personalized advice on style but the best general one I’ve ever had comes from the genius mind of Lady of the Manners from Gothic Charm School. She tells us to use creative thinking, when picking materials to accessories projects. Such materials are for example, Christmas and Halloween decorations, flea market finds and other objects of unusual beauty. I am sure this philosophy can be subjected to a whole style instead of just accessories. If something isn’t literally Lolita, make it Lolita. So basically the best advice I ever had is: Be creative and make it work!
