Lolita blog carnival: Create your own lolita substyle

Vampire lolita

Vampire lolita is substyle that takes much from gothic lolita, adds a generous dose of romantic goth aesthetic and mixes with classic horror movie glamour.  Wearer wouldn't stand out at the set of Dracula or Interview with the Vampire.

This style uses lot of jewel colours like ruby, emerald and sapphire but also black, wine and navy. The fabrics are luxurious velvets, shining brocades and floaty chiffons.
Chiffon or lace blouses give just the right romantic addition to this opulent look and add a touch of vampiric sensuality to one's outfit.A slightly more decollete is recommended but not necessary.

When it comes to aaccessoriessomething with a slight macabre touch is really the best option. Vampire bite necklaces, black lace gloves and large veiled hats go with Vampire lolita perfectly. And of course no vampire is completely ready without a proper parasol to ward of that fiendish sunlight.
Shoes should be extremely elegant, somewhat Victorian and preferably heeled. Ankle boots, dainty pumps and full goth boots will definitely work.

As for make up dark lips and pale skin are recommended and dark eye make up encouraged. Inspiration can be taken from such femmes fatales as Morticia Addams, Theda Bara and any of the ladies of Tim Burton. (Well... Maybe not the Red queen...)

One can't really list good brands to buy items for this look but Moi-même-moitié will have nice blouses, most classic brands carry appropirate dresses along with Atelier Pierrot and Lumiebre has good options for the parasol lover.  Accessories can be easily found from the collections of Alchemy Gothic, vintage stores and Etsy.

Bubu

My husband got me Bunny Bear as an early anniversary present. She is so big and so cute, I love it so much. I can already tell taht most of the time she is going to sit next to my teddybears on the sofa but I always did believe in bringing some lolita to ones decorating.

Without the hood. The bear ears are cute too but I'll probably keep the hood on most times. It's a bit cuter that way.

The Baby logo has a cute little diamond on it.

Just look at the darling laser eyes...

10 signs of autumn, the lolita version

1. Closet child will publish its coats page along with the brand collections of coats.

2. One will find it is incredibly important to read Kamikaze girls again. (And thusly becomes inspired to wear old school coordinates)

3. Muted colours become all the rage once more.

4. Parasols magically turn into umbrellas.

5. Suddenly everyone is wearing ankle booties. And cardigans or knits. With fur collars to look more cuddly and warm.

6. Alice and the pirates releases the annual Halloween print declaring  the halloween season open. Everyone will buy a massive lace adorned witch hat.

7. Summer sales are over. And the wait for the next lucky bag season begins.

8. Florals will slowly disappear from the print circuit and get replaced by plaid, crowns, teddy bears, books or chocolate.

9. The hunt for the perfect pair of gloves will begin.

10. Someone will try to host the last summer picnic. Sun decides to shine as during summer when ever there has been a picnic it has been raining.

What signs of autumn have you, my dear readers seen lately? Feel free to add to my list in the comments or make your own!

Simple Houndstooth dress.

Recently I finished this simple jumperskirt. I wanted something almost ETC-like or Chanelish and decided not to add lace or frills. Just a really nicely cut dress from a cute fabric. I chose a patter with a really small sweet heart neckline and a seam at the waist and a pleated hem.

I really love this pattern. It's so cute and so elegant at the same time.

Pleats are so pretty.

Lolita blog carnival: The picture that made me fall in love with lolita

So this was it. That dress is still my ultimate dream dress and that elegance still enchants me. I was interested in lolita before I saw this picture but this one sealed the deal, killed the old me and allowed the new on to be born.

Witching hour

When Tiia visited last saturday she brought her doll Susie with her to meet with my Héloise. Naturally we took a whole bunch of photos of the girls.
