New series! My teaset!

As all of you know I love tea. With passion. So I've been thinking of showing you the teacups and other tea related things I have and I realized that making it in one post would make that a very long, very picture heavy post. So I decided that I will show you my teasets one set at a time. Today we are going to look at the set I call Lomonosov net.

The Lomonosov net was the first Russian teaset I got. My mother gave it to me as a Christmas present. I only have the cups and the saucers and hope I would some day get the pot and other things too. As you can sea this set is blue white and gold, which is a reaccurring theme in my teasets. I have other colours too but the majority of my teasets are white and blue with accents of gold.

 Here is the plate of this set. As you can see the pattern is gorgeus and very fluid. The white insert on the middle gives it a ligth and open feel. The blue is painted under the glazing and the gold is added over it. The technique gives the patter some texture but will prevent washing these in a washing machine. 

Here is the cups handle. It is blue and it has some sort of a flower pattern, a lily maybe? The handle is very basic in shape, it has not extra nubs or swirls and it compliments the ornate pattern of the cup quite nicely. 

The inner rim of the cup has a thin gold pattern a half circle with something that resembles a rising sun in it. I like a cup which has a bit of decoration on the inside too. It makes tea time fancier. 

 

And finally the Lomonosov stamp. This one is made in the time of USSR which would make it 1917 to 1992. I really don't know how old these cups are but they are gorgeus so I don't really care.  The mark is reddish brown which I think is good.

My birthday!

I celebrated my birthday with my friends yesterday! We went to a nice Italian restaurant and had tea afterwards at my place.

I wore:

Hat, shirt: vintage

Dress: Hand made by me ( it's that annoying blue colour that only looks blue under very brigth sunshine. Which we didn't have yesterday.)

Bag: Super random.

Socks: Sokos
Shoes: Wonders

Pearls: Bought from the Christmas market last year.

Gloves: Belle Modeste

Vampires, Addam's family, ghouls and femme fatale! What coud be more exiciting. For a place look for something dimly lit, and ghosty. Outfit could be anything gothic or macabrely accesoried classic for that "I'm a vampire's victim" effect. Serve something decadent and sumptuous.

2. Revolutionary picnic

La revolution!

Are you a revolutionary or a royalist? If the first is true break out the red, white and blue! If the latter it's time to wear those overly detailed rococo style dresses. Then again you could go with the gilloitine look and wear a red ribbon around your neck. For a place look for a rococo garden.

3. Gone with the wind

Time to break out some faboulous victorianesque dresses and huge hats! This would be a perfect theme for a picnic or in a cafe with a victorian theme.

4. Christmas!

Of course as it is almost the holidayseason I had to include christmas! Glitter! Ornaments! Reindeers! Wear velvets, tartans and cuddly furs and break out those lovely christmas prints you never get to wear (Angelic pretty is brilliant with these). Have your guest eat gingerbread and drink glögi ( a spicy fruit drink I personally love!) Go for an outing on your towns christmas market and take pictures of the fairyligths!

5. Childhood toys!

Toys!

Wear something inspired by your favorite child hood toy! For a doll, something dool themed, for a pony how about some unicorn heels (or wear the pony to your head if OTT is your thing). Go to a toy museum or a nice eccentric cafe. Tell the other about your favorite toys.

Rosemaria's birthday!

Sanni invited me and Mari to attend her birthday party today. We had such fun!

As usual we had lovely food to eat. Sanni is so good at baking!

We see no evil, we speak no evil and we hear no evil.

My outfit today was rather gothic. I wore J&J dress, Btssb headband and off brand shirt and tigths.

I also wore this coat which I wore way too little. 

Happy birthday again Sanni and thank you for a fun party!

Painting...

Flowerthief made this book as Christhmas present for his god daugther and neese and asked me to do a little painting for the first page.

So here is the painting. The text says "Beautiful memories!" and as I am a lolita I sneaked in a bit of lolita aesthetic to my work.

Lolita blog carnival: Day in my life.

Hello again! This weeks lolita blog carnival prompt was a photodiary of a lolita's day! Mine sort of starts in the middle because my camera had battery issues. 

So after I was done with my makeup and dressing me and Flowerthief went to the city center to run some errands. I got one of my favourite treats! Dried strawberry flakes! They are so yummy, like healthy candy!

After that we stopped to take a picture of my outfit. It's so cold outside I had to take my winter coat out from strorage. The coat is from innocent world and so is the bag. I made the bonnet myself and modified the gloves. The shoes are from a boutique at Helsinki and will be showing up a lot during winter. 

After taking that we went to cafe for brunch. I ordered waffles and tea and Flowerthief had some coffee.

After eating we went to get some groceries and left for our house. Before leaving flowerthief took a picture of my outfit. I wore Innocent world dress and as I sai before a handmade bonnet.

After Flowerthief left for work I had a cup (or five) of tea (Emperor's bride again) and read a book. I really like reading. My current project is to reread Harry Potter's. I currently on The order of the Phoenix. 

Few hours after I had had the tea I cooked up some meat balls and spaghetti and had supper. It was delicious, I got had some really nice mince meat to use. With deer... Or Elk... Moose? Oh well. It has horns. 

And that was my day. I will probably have a bath and watch silly tv-shows.

I love watching old detective shows as much as I love watching Criminal minds. They have a charm that modern criminal shows never seem to get. Maybe it's the clothes or the lack of disrupting
modern nic nacs. Of course it helps that the scenery of said shows is rather gorgeous. Fresh countryside... Manors, dainty villages... Well anyways after watching a lot of Poirot and Marple and Holmes I thougth why not to draw inspiration from them.

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is the brain child of the brilliant sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He is a genies although a bit strange. Lately there have been some successful movies about him but I do prefere the old television show for I feel it is more loyal to the books.

Sherlock  has been given a very iconic look on the old television show. He wears neutrally coloured tweeds and a deerstalker when roaming the country side and smart frock coats and tophats while in the city. I prefere the aforementioned look so that's where my inspiration comes on.

Sherlock Holmes

At first I thought giving him a cape but then I remembered this coat. It is so Sherlocky that I just had to use it. I added other neutral toned items and victorian styled boots. The earrings feature Watson too so you'll always carry your sidekick with you!

Jane Marple

Jane Marple is definetly my favorite. I just have a soft spot for little old ladies with great minds and she undeniably is one. It seems like the lovely village of st Mary Meads has a never ending strorage for shady characters which give her the experience to solve any mystery.

Miss Marple's style is very cute in my opinion. She uses soft materials and warm colours which make her appereance sweet and unasuming. She likes to keep warm so cardigans are a staple in her wardrobe.

Miss Marple

For miss Marple I wanted to choose something warm and cute so a cardigan was a must! I also added a nice paird of fingerless gloves and sensible shoes. And a hat. She always always has a hat. Also the brooch had to be added. It's so cute!

Hercule Poirot

Hercule Poirot is the dandyish, belgian detective who trusts in his little grey cells. He started his career in the Belgian police force but moved to England after his retirement to get away from the first world war. His fame was in it's full glory between the wars and so was his style.

Hercule is famed for his grand moustache and tailored suits with an oldfashioned air. He is always dressed appropriately and always takes account of the situation. He uses mostly neutral tones but at home he likes to use a jewel coloured smoking jacket which I find very decadent.

Hercule Poirot

For Hercule I chose neutral tones and  tailored looking clothes and a brooch that reminds me of his watch chains. Also the moustache needed to be added it is so iconic part of his look. The shoes are my decadent touch because they are so beautyfully embroidered.
